  1. “The Tell-Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe is full of fear. He made this mood possible by putting certain things in the piece. Poe did a lot of things in “The Tell-Tale Heart” to evoke the mood of fear. Poe thoroughly described what he did in the story. This made the story creepy and fearful. He also used a lot of hyperboles that exaggerated certain situations. “First of all I dismembered the corpse. I cut off the head and the arms and the legs.” (p. 3) This quote goes to show that Poe goes into detail when explaining things. He told the readers what body parts he cut off of the corpse. He could have just said that he dismembered the corpse, but instead he went into detail. This added to the fear of the story. “The Tell-Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe evoked the mood of fear. Poe evoked this mood by using details and hyperboles. “The Tell-Tale Heart” is full of fear.

  2. The mood of “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allen Poe is heart-full. Poe created this feeling by telling the reader how much he loved Annabel Lee and how much he still loved her even after she died.” And neither the angels in heaven above, Nor the demons down under the sea, can ever dissever my soul from the soul of the beautiful Annabel Lee” This quote is effective to the creation of the mood because it is saying that even the angels or demons could take the speakers love from Annabel Lee. The mood of “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allan Poe is heart-full because it tells the tale of a tragic love story.

  3. "Annabel Lee" by Edger Allan Poe was a mood of love. The speaker loved Annabel with all his heart and she knew that. "And this maiden she lived with no other thought Than to love and be loved by me." When Annabel got taken away from him and died, the speaker still loved her the same because in his mind she never died. The quote I used was important because it shows that Annabel knows that the speaker loves her and would do anything for her. The mood of love was shown in the poem by 2 characters. The speaker and "Annabel Lee"

In the poem ''The Tell Tale Heart'' it put me in a creepy mood. I felt this way because the way he describes and explains things. Like the fact he said he has been stalking his dad for 8 days because of his ''evil eye'' and this is his last day because Edgar Allen Poe is going to kill him. Theres also a thing he mentioned about hearing his heart beat and when his dad died he could still hear it beating. There is a a lot of figurative language in this poem, like when he said this ''His room was as black as pitch with the thick darkness''. This shows how dark the room was when he entered his dad's room. It fits the mood because it shows how dark everything can turn in this poem when he is stalking his dad and killing his dad. In the poem there are a lot of things that show how this poems are dark and creepy.

The mood of "Annabel Lee" by Edger Allan Poe is a sad but mysteroius mood. The poem is about 2 lovers who have loved each other ever since they were kids. Years later, they are lovers. One night, however the man's lover (Annabel Lee) is killed. "That the wind came out of the cloud by night, Chilling and killing my Annabel Lee." The quote is effective because death is sad and he is very sad after the death of his lover. "Annabel Lee" by Edgar Allan Poe has a very sad mood. It is sad because the main character's lover dies, but it is also very mysterious because they don't literally state how she died.

  7. In the Poem "Annabel Lee" by Edgar Allan Poe was sad. Poe created this feeling to the reader by telling how much he loved Annabel Lee and how much he loved Annabel Lee when she was dead. " And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side of my darling - my darling- my life and my bride. (38+39) This quote is so effective toward the creation of the mood because even though Annabel Lee is dead the narrator will always love her. This is why "Annabel Lee" by Edgar Allan Poe was so sad.

  9. In the poem ´´ Annabel Lee´´ by Edgar Allen Poe made me feel happy at first but then sad.The author made me feel happy because he was saying now they loved each other with a love that was more than love. But then it made me feel sad because Annabel Lee died he will always lie down on her tomb every night. ´´ But we loved with a love that was more then love.´´(9) ´´And so, all the night-tide, I lie down by the side, of my darling-my darling-my life and my bride, In the sepulchre there by the sea, In her tomb by the sounding sea.´´(38-41) The quote is so effective toward the creation of the mood because it expresses how the narrator feels about Annabel Lee. ´´Annabel Lee´´ by Edgar Allen Poe was accomplished by his expressions and feelings.

  10. The story Annabel Lee by Edgar Allen Poe has a depressing mood to it. Poe created this depressing mood by the way he used figurative language and rhyme scheme. Poe also used imagery, which made the story come alive in my head. “And neither the angels in heaven above, nor the demons down under the sea, can never dissever my soul from the soul of the beautiful Annabel Lee” (30-33). I feel that this quote really contributed towards the mood because the author is explaining how even though Annabel Lee is dead, their souls will remain together no matter what happens. This is a depressing thought because it is hard to let go of someone who dies, especially someone who you were in love with. The poem Annabel Lee has a depressing mood, because of Poe’s incredible use of figurative language, rhyme scheme, and imagery.

  11. In the poem Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe made me feel pity. Edgar Allan Poe used irony and imagery to make me feel this way. These techniques he used are successful because he says how the narrator’s true love was killed and “taken away from his arms” making readers feel sorrow for him in this particular situation. “So that her highborn kinsman came and bore her away from me, To shut her up in a sepulcher In this kingdom by the sea (17-20)”. I believe that this quote is effective toward the creation of the mood because it explains how the narrator’s love was taken away from him and what the taker’s intentions were. To me, the mood of Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe was pitiful, which he accomplished by using advanced vocabulary and using great imagery.

  12. The poem Annabel Lee by Edgar Allan Poe has a very sad and depressing mood to it. Poe created this mood/feeling by explaining how much the narrator loved Annabel Lee and how being with her was his life. After the knowing and understanding the love that was between him and Annabel Lee, she dies! This makes you fell very sad for the narrator and you feel bad that he had lost his love. " The angels, not half so happy in heaven, went envying her and me." (21-22) This shows the reader that the narrator is angry that he lost his Annabel Lee took her away from him because they are jealous of their love. This is depressing because the narrator didn't do anything to loose her and it is unfair. In this poem by Edger Allan Poe there is a sad, depressing mood that really makes you feel bad for the narrator in Annabel Lee.

  13. In the short story “The Tell Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe, the author created a
creepy mood. I think he made this possible by having the narrator explain and
describe his thoughts and actions using figurative language. For example, he is
stalking an older man for a week while he sleeps-at midnight-with the intention of
killing him because of his “vulture eye.” He compares one of the man’s eyes to
that of a vulture (metaphor) or uses a similie when he states, “So I opened it –
you cannot imagine how stealthily, stealthily – until, at length a simple dim ray,
like the thread of the spider, shot from out the crevice and fell full upon the
vulture eye” (page 3) when he compares the light coming out of the lantern to the
thickness of a spider’s web. This makes me think of a pitch-black room and
seeing a creepy shadow cast from the lantern…the darkness and shadows are
definitely the creepy part. Overall, “The Tell Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe is a
very creepy short story with multiple examples of figurative language that will
    creep any reader out.

  16. The mood of “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allan Poe is loneliness and love. Poe creates this feeling because the narrator is saying how much he loved Annabel Lee before and after her death. “Nor the demons down under the sea, Can ever dissever my soul from the soul Of the beautiful Annabel Lee”(lines 31-33). This quote shows that no matter who tries to tear their love apart, their love is to strong to break, and always in a way they will stay connected. The mood in “Annabel Lee” by Edgar Allan Poe was accomplished because of the way Poe used all types of figurative language.

  17. The mood of "Annabel Lee" by Edger Allan Poe is a sad. Edgar love died because Annabel highborn kinsman came and bore her away form Edgar Alllan.I feel sad for Edgar because he love her so much when they were kids."The angels, not half so happy in heaven, went envying her and me-Yes! that was the reason, that the wind came out of the cloud by night, chilling and killing my Annabel Lee.(lines 21-26) This quote shows me that the angels might be jealous that Annabel and Edgar loved together since they were kids. Edgar may be sad without Annabel but, now she is in a better place.Overall, Edgar Poe lost his love, he will keep continue on his life without Annabel Lee.

  18. The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe is a story of grief and depressing times for a man who lost his love. It sets a sad feel to it than a raven comes and takes all the grief and personifies it into the raven. The raven says nevermore speaking of when the narrator will see his lost love again. Then you slowly see the narrator break down in despair. “But whose velvet violet lining with the lamp-light gloating o’er she shall press ah nevermore.” [The Raven line 78] This sums up the overall despair of the story telling the narrator he will never see his love again. The Raven by Edger Allen Poe is oddly depressing and leaves you sad and unsettled.

The poem “The Tell-Tale Heart” was written by Edgar Allen Poe and the mood that I received from it was creepy. Edgar Allen Poe used many different techniques to create the mood. Between the figurative language/imagery, the point of view, and the hyphens which slow down the reading and add suspense the story was taken to many different levels that made the mood even stronger. “I heard all things in heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell.” (Page 1 Line 3 to 4). This quote I feel sets the mood. The author writes about 3 sentences (one with a hyphen), and then goes into saying that he can hear anything and everything. Even the thought of hearing everything is creepy and then he adds the fact that the stalker/killer can hear everything makes the story ten times creeper. “The Tell-Tale Heart” is a poem by Edgar Allen Poe. The mood creepy was created by using many different techniques.

"The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe. Poe is a master of creating mood. The mood that Poe created in "The Tell-Tale Heart" is Creepy/Mysterious. Poe did a lot of things to create this mood. 1 thing is that Poe used 1st person point of view. This makes the mood creepy because you know what the character is thinking and what he is going to do. Also Poe used a lot of Figurative language. He liked to use Hyperbole's. " “First of all I dismembered the corpse. I cut off the head and the arms and the legs.” This quote was on P.3. This quote is effective to the mood because he explains what he is doing and it is very exaggerated. This gave me a creepy felling. The mood in "The Tell-Tale Heart" was a Creepy/Mysterious.

The Tell Tale Heart is a great piece of writing by Edgar Allen Poe. The mood of The Tell Tale Heart makes me feel nervous. Poe created sophisticated mood. He exaggerated his senses. He mostly exaggerated hearing and sight. “Now I say, there came to my ears a loud dull quick sound, such as a watched makes when enveloped in cotton”. This quote makes me feel like there is a cliff hanger. What’s going to happen next? This story makes me nervous but also anxious.
